Ah, Monks.

Back in the day - before the iTunes store, downloads and digital piracy - I used to buy these things called 'Singles'. Bands used to bring these things out consisting of a song from their newest album and one or two other songs that were not deemed good enough to make it on to that album. Stashed away in a little box in my wardrobe I have all these CDs that I bought and found them the other day while looking for something completely unrelated. Looking through them I discovered that while there is some good stuff in there, there's a lot of gumph too. Here's a list of them in full.

Blondie - Maria
Cast - Magic Hour
Catationa - Stone By Stone
The Corrs - Breathless
Embrace - You're Not Alone
David Gray - Babylon
Andreas Johnson - Glorious
Kula Shaker - Shower Your Love
New Radicals - You Get What You Give
Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me
Will Smith - Men In Black
Suede - Filmstar
Suede - Electricity
Travis - Driftwood
Travis - Turn
Travis - Coming Around
Various Artists - Perfect Day
Wet Wet Wet - Yesterday
Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag
Robbie Williams - Let Me Entertain You
Robbie Williams - Millennium

I have no memory of buying most of them. I remember I got three at one time; Driftwood, Kiss Me and Shower Your Love. The only reason I remember these specific ones is that I got them the day before I went to Euro Disney with my school in third year.

Nowadays I use iTunes for buying singles and EPs for bands that I got into too late. Soon I will finish collecting the entire Skunk Anansie back-catalouge and start on Muse.
