So why not take your chances and try?

Yesterday Guitar Hero for the Xbox 360 entered my life and - goodness - isn’t it fun? I’ve had good fun today coming up with a band name, a name for my character and style him, his guitar and his persona. And of course I’ve been having fun playing the songs.

So, my band name is Hootchie Packet and my character’s name is Ken Spangles, a bad-ass mofo with a tall quiff, sweet tuxedo and red baseball shoes. He tends to jump out and down and strike poses when he’s not playing, but that’s just the way Ken Spangles is, he likes to look like a stupid tosspot.

The songs are great, a good mix of old (The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Jimi Hendrix) with new the new (Muse, Foo Fighters and At The Drive-In). It means that you can rock out then your Dad can come in and manage to find something he knows to have a shot. I personally look forward to my Dad having a shot.

The downside is that my fingers, wrists and arms are completely cramped up, but I’ll go back for more later. The other downside is Sweet Home Alabama. I hate that song above all others and will walk out of a room if it comes on. And it’s on Guitar Hero. Boo! All in though, it is fun strapping an under-sized, Fisher Price-esque guitar to yourself and looking at the colorful dots on the screen.

Must go, ROCK ON!
