Jazz Bikes.

I realised this week that I don’t have the same skill with building and fixing things as my father. I spent about two days trying to build something called a ‘Trail-Gator’.
This is basically a bar that connects Catriona’s bicycle to mine, lifting her front wheel off the ground and locking it so she can’t steer. The idea is she can still pedal but if she gets bored she can stop.
Anyway, after hours trying to build this bloody thing I did it and was well chuffed, even if I had cut my hand open along the way. First time out on it Catriona said she didn’t like it and won’t go back on it.
Oh well.

The reason that I was fitting the bar, by the way, is because we may be doing a twenty-five-kilometre bike ride on Sunday. I will keep you posted on that one as it’s pretty weather dependant.

And I’m just in from Fribourg were I had a really relaxed night at a jazz festival. Lorna, Catriona and I went into town to try and find a present for Catriona’s friend’s birthday and ended up having a nice wee curry outside a tent listening to some light jazz. Even managed to get a couple o’ beers in. Good times.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen live music (not for long, Ben Folds in November!) so it was really nice to watch some classy Swiss musicians. And the singer! My, she certainly had a set of lungs.

And that’s all really. I watched the film 300 today while I was doing the ironing. Gerard Butler is the lead charcter! Gerard Butler! This guy played Marti Claymore in The Young Person’s Guide To Becoming A Rock Star and sang one of the greatest songs ever written; We Love Cowdenbeath.

I really need to work on how to end these blogs properly.
