This happened to me last week and I meant to post it early. I'm still in mild shock and amused by it.
Last week, I was asked for I.D. while buy a pack of cigarettes.
Slightly taken aback I handed over some I.D. and pointed out that I was twenty-four. The woman said that they had to ask anyone that looks under twenty-five; it's a new thing to prevent binge-drinking. "Strange," I thought "You can't do much binge drinking with a pack of twenty Lambert & Butler [I'm a classy guy!]."
Am I so out of touch? You need to be 18 to buy ciggies now, when did that happen?! The problem would be easily solved by me stopping smoking, but I'm just not a quitter. Besides, will this happen now whenever I buy alcohol?
Laws can be silly.

Alright, let's set this straight. I don't do drugs, I'm not a big drinker. Let me smoke. Come on, I accept you guys for who you are, why can't you guys accept me for this?
I for one only said it to wind you up, I was bored and stressed.... I don't mind if you smoke... plus accepting me for who I am is a big step... well done you ;)
