My delightful older brother has a subscription to LoveFilm. For those of you who don’t know what LoveFilm is then it’s basically an online Blockbuster store. You simply pay a monthly fee (which is based on what package you take), set up a list on their website of the DVDs you want to get. They send one to you, you watch it, you send it back. Repeat.
Matthew (don’t call him Matty-Bo-Bo!) has got some cracking films and TV shows through this; Pan’s Labyrinth, Downfall, MacGyver, Scrubs, etc., etc.
At the moment we have the last disc of the first series of the high octane, real-time drama 24 in the house. Sadly I missed disc three due to pottering around Europe but I picked up the action at 20:00. What is interesting about 24 is that all the best plot developments seem to happen on the hour. You know, the end of the episode. Isn’t that something? It’s also worth noting (and this observation is nothing new) is that Jack Bauer never goes to the toilet. Mind you, I assume he wouldn’t need to go as her never eats or drinks anything. Also, as each episode is actually only forty-five minutes long (no adverts on DVDs) the DVD boxset should be called 18.
But I nitpick; it is a cracking series and well worth a little view. Don’t try and watch it in one sitting.
Must go. I want to see what happens between Ten PM and Eleven PM on the day of the California Presidential Primaries.
