Sunday was spent as a sort of enormous chill out day; we didn’t do much other than go into town for a spot of lunch and a play on the beach.
Monday on the other hand was much more stressful. Pretty much all the hashers (I do plan on spilling the beans on what hashers are) left on Monday. Due to all of Saturday night’s cooking being done in a lot of different apartments all the dishes, glasses and cutlery from the apartments was all over the place, so we had to find what was missing from that apartment and get it back there. The holiday village are very strict about that and would have hit individual rooms with a hefty fine if we didn’t.
By about ten all was sorted and we drove into Bordeaux to drop off some people at the airport. We then headed to a shopping centre for a look around and some food shopping.
Still no bloody hat.
We then went to an AMAZING sports shop. So amazing that I, David Cochrane, bought clothing. Anyone that knows me well will no it is damn near unheard-of for me to buy clothes when I don’t really need it, but I bought a hoody and a new pair of goggles. Excitement. After that I headed up to the pool to try my new goggles out.
We had a very relaxed evening of salad and Pimms in my Aunt and Uncle’s apartment and I had a bit of an early night.
Today was fun. We went with Margret and Ian to the ferry port and waved them off and headed back towards civilization. We sampled the very height of French Cuisine (McDonalds) did some more food shopping, and headed out to do something that I was really looking forward to.
Wine tasting.
Boy, did it end up being pricey. I’ve – so far – racked up seven bottles of red from two vineyards. And they are tasty tasty. Sadly I will need to wait until October before sampling getting them, but such is life.
And so we returned to the flat. I have no idea what the plan is for tonight (short of going to pop this on the internet, which I have clearly done if you’re reading this) but there are many options for tomorrow, weather dependent of course. This morning we were greeted to a massive thunderstorm, which was great fun, but it did flood the walkway outside the flats.
Mind you, what do you expect in France?

You call that stress!? :D Try a class of kids for two days on your own... Actually don't!
You'll be home soon and can sleep in your own bed and eat toast.
Don't want to eat toast in bed; think of the crumbs!
I wasn't suggesting your make crumbies in your bed! That would be silly... eat toast wherever you like... but surely the joy of one's own bed cannot be underated!
