My Amazing Teenage Videotape (Part 1)

I'm not in Switzerland at the moment and I'm not doing anything hugely exciting. Well I went to Glasgow. I keep bumping into one of the chaps from Chewin' The Fat, why can't I keep bumping into Hayden Panettiere? Anyway, I thought I would post something. So it's something a little difference.

Back when I was much younger I was rather spoiled. At one point I had a videotape with lots of random performances from Later... with Jools Holland and TFI Friday; you know, good programs with live music. Sadly, I have either lost this tape or recorded over it. I'm gutted by this as I had a truly brilliant mix of music that my teenage self loved.

However, these days we have YouTube and I was able to find a lot of what was on the tape. So, here are a couple of classic mid-nineties tunes.

First up Road Rage by Catatonia. I bloody loved Catatonia and nicked so much stuff from their drummer Aled Richards. I still look on him as one of the reasons that I play the drums the way I do.

Next we have Feeling Good by Muse. I was really into this song, now I'm really into all their songs. Great use of a megaphone.

Great Hosanna by Kula Shaker. Crispin Mills clearly coked off his puss here, but it's still a cracking song. I must dig this album out. Watch the drummer at the end, it looks like his head's about to explode.

Swingin' by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers. Funnily enough, this is from the same program as Kula Shaker. The audio sucks on this one.

And the last one - for now anyway - Travis and All I Want To Do Is Rock. I bloody love this period of Travis.
