It may disturb some people to know that I'm not always the happy, jolly person that (most) people get to see. I get down sometimes. I don't want a collective 'Awwww' from the people of the internet but it's true, I think everyone gets like that from time to time. Anyway when I'm feeling down there's one song I like to listen to.
I'm pretty reluctant to give the name of this song, but it always cheers me up. It's a mixture of things that I like about it; the lyrical content always makes me chuckle, the actual sound of the song is dire, the timing's all over the place and even switches time signature (it takes a special kind of ineptitude to change time signature by accident and I don't believe that it was planned). Also a friend's description of it as 'Lesbian Rock' always brings a smile to my face too. I'm pretty sure that only one person who reads this blog has actually heard this song (and heard it many, many times - poor thing) and if I give the name of the piece of music in question then that person - I'm sure - will start to laugh as well. If you do then please let me know. As I have stated I don't want to name this song, but the title has two words and both those words begin with the letter F. I will happily tell people face to face what the song is called, but don't want to put it here and again I will tell you why if you ask.
Now, I will never, EVER let anyone here this song. It's too special to be played a lot and it's a little gem that I would like to keep to myself so this blog is, in essence, completely pointless (as most of my blogs are). I simply wanted to highlight how great music is. No matter how you feel someone has written a song that will cheer you up.
I am now talking to the person that I know has heard this song: Don't post any of the lyrics. They are far too special...
