Sunday's rehearsal(s) went a lot better than I thought they would. The kids performed well, especially since we did a scene they hadn't really blocked; the adults were on good form (even if we did have to remind one or two of them that there was a lot of children in the room and to watch their language) and the youth were there too. No offence to them, but I really didn't see most of them actually doing anything. Apparently their big scene is in act two and we were only rockin' act one.
But the fun doesn't end there! Not be a long shot. We're stepping up to three rehearsals a week now (I think) which may send stress levels through the roof. In a couple of weeks it will be over and what a glorious day that'll be. There is a rehearsal tonight and another tomorrow night. And then next week we have exactly the same except doing act one.
The good thing about this is that my older brother (I referred to him once in the written word as my big bother; I was five) is coming to play the backing tracks, so at least the correct song may get played at the correct time, preferably before the singer starts singing the song.
As I write this I'm listening to a song called You Had A Time by William Shatner. A song with a message that says that it may not happen today, it may not happen tomorrow, but one day you're going to die. I think it may happen sooner rather than later.
