While starting my Christmas shopping earlier this week I picked me up a bargain; Weezer’s second self-titled album. I believe it is known among fans as The Green Album. I’ve had Weezer’s first self-titled album (The Blue Album) for years. I fell in love the song Buddy Holly after seeing the video for it on the disc that came with Windows ’95.
But getting back to The Green Album; I think it’s a perfect little album. Great song writing, well played and produced and it’s only half an hour long so it doesn’t outstay its welcome. There’s no swearing, making it child friendly, and you can really hear everything going on. I adore this album. I think I shall need to get Weezer’s third self-titled album, this one’s called The Red Album in the Weezer-fandom.
If you see it and fancy a straight forward guitar-rock album get this. Honest, it’s smashing.
